The CEC provides subsidized rental assistance for homeless families that are in crisis through our Housing PLUS Program. Once referred to the CEC, we provide subsidized housing at a CEC property for up to 12 months. During that time the participant will pay a subsidized rent based on the participant’s adjusted gross income. Gradually they will pay up to 80% of the Fair Market rent. They will be assisted by our Housing Specialist to locate a unit that best fits the families’ requirements.
Families will also be assigned a Resource Specialist that will assist them in navigating other intensive services provided such as employment and financial coaching, counseling, support groups, benefits counseling, High School Equivalency (GED) training and testing, and career exploration. These services, excluding the subsidized housing, are also offered to the community at large.
