Our services to individuals and families are more than affordable and in most cases are given without charge. With a highly qualified professional staff and a strong group of health professionals who volunteer their services, we provide a comforting bridge for those who cannot afford the burdensome costs of health insurance in our society. Our Principle goal is to create environments in which all people have access to first-class clinical services which allow them to function properly, and to care for member of their families During the past quarter century the Muslim Community Center for Human Services has sought to make the world a better place to live for people by ensuring that many of their basic health and dental care needs are met at affordable prices.
In the beginning we were started when Dr. Basheer Ahmed, a highly respected clinical psychiatrist and member at the University of Texas Southwestern, was asked to assist refugees who fled war-torn Bosnia and relocated in North Texas.
Dr.
Basheer, equipped with a spirit of giving, reached out to his friends and
associates who were trained medical clinicians. They volunteered their time to
aid people they did not know who had come to America with little material
possessions, no health insurance and an abundance of painful experiences
embedded in their souls. The Muslim Community Center for Human Services met their healthcare
needs and has continued to meet the needs of people- refugees and those born in
America, including people of many ethnicity and backgrounds.
The only requirement of service has been that a need existed that the individual or family could not afford. We saw it as our mission to meet that need, helping others that did not have the means to help themselves or those that they loved.
