At weekly or bi-weekly home visits, Parent Educators model positive parenting skills and educate parents about their child’s developmental level, next milestones and activities to encourage growth. Our home visiting program exemplifies the Two-Generation Approach, as it addresses the needs of the whole family—the early development of children and the economic, health and social progress of their parents. Through this program model, the Parent Educator helps guide the development and progress of the whole family. To build social capital among participating families, Parent Educators host monthly Group Connection events at museums, park, the zoo, and other locations to provide educational resources, family socialization and networking opportunities for all families in the program.
