Families for Effective Autism Treatment-North Texas (FEAT-NT) is a 501 c 3 non-profit operated by volunteer parents of children with autism who know first-hand the daily struggles of life with autism.
Over 20 years ago, a group of Dallas Fort Worth volunteer parents came together to form an organization that would help them discover the answers they needed to help their children and families through their autism journey. What started out as monthly meetings and a small group of parents grew into FEAT-NT’s mission to educate the outside local community about autism and effective autism intervention. Our goal to educate, support , and provide effective teaching principles will help individuals with autism to live fuller lives and reach greater potential than ever imagined. FEAT-NT provides parent and professional resources including: parent mentoring at meetings, parent and professional educational training, an autism library with over 600 books and resources on Autism, Asperger’s, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, and ADD, available to check out free of charge, support group meetings for those affected by autism, social groups for tweens, teens and adults, family fun days, community autism awareness campaigns and trainings, and sibling outreach program - “Sibshops”, Approved Provider (a nationally recognized program). We deliver our mission statement and the majority of our guidance at the FEAT-NT Resource Center and Library. Our 2,300 sq ft family friendly center includes: a support group meeting area, room for childcare, a library, kitchen and workshop room.
