Our pediatric care team specializes in the needs of infants and children through early adulthood, who suffer from cancer, neurological disorders, lung and heart disease, neonatal diseases, congenital abnormalities, and other life-limiting illnesses. We work directly with your child’s pediatrician, specialists, therapists and other caregivers encouraging their continued involvement in your child’s care.
Our interdisciplinary hospice team consists of physicians, nurses, social workers, certified nurse aides, chaplains, licensed professional counselor and volunteers. They are all skilled in their professions to give personalized care with a compassionate hand.
The Hospice Team will educate the caregiver and family on:
What to expect with your child’s diagnosis and prognosis
How to cope and care for your child at home with proven techniques
How to effectively utilize medical equipment and medications provided through our service
While we care for patients who are dying, the focus at Hospice of Wichita Falls is on how our patients LIVE. The patient’s quality of life at the end of life is of utmost importance, and we strive to provide the care and comfort to each patient that will allow each one to be pain and symptom free so that they can achieve their end-of-life goals.
