Social Skills Groups:
The social skills groups at JCCTA are designed to help young people develop and apply basic interpersonal skills across a variety of settings, including school, familial, and peer environments. Children and adolescents with a variety of diagnoses and challenges can benefit from social skills training, including those with ADHD, ASD, mood disorders, and other behavioral disturbances.
Our social skills group sessions are conducted on a biweekly basis, and participants are placed in the group which is most fitting to his/her age, as well as unique challenges. See below for our current group schedules.
Ages 6 to 8 - Alternating Thursdays at 4:30
Ages 9 to 11 - Alternating Mondays at 4:30
Ages 10 to 12 - Alternating Thursdays at 4:30
Ages 12 to 17 - Alternating Tuesdays at 4:30
We offer comprehensive psychological, neuropsychological, and psychoeducational evaluations for individuals age 2 to 60+ aimed at providing diagnostic clarity and guiding treatment recommendations and goals. Results of these evaluations can assist mental health professionals determine the most appropriate therapeutic interventions to employ and medical personnel ascertain a beneficial medication regimen for the individual assessed. Results can also be used to seek academic services through a child's school.
JCCTA assesses for:

· Irlen Syndrome
· Learning disorders
· Mood disorders
· Personality functioning
· Other areas of dysfunction
Therapy begins with a clinical interview conducted primarily with the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of the child patient, or the patient(s) him/herself. Following this initial meeting, your clinician will provide recommendations regarding appropriate session frequency, therapy format(s), and initial treatment goals. You and/or your child are also encouraged to participate in the development of treatment goals.
