National Runaway Safeline (NRS), formerly known as the National Runaway Switchboard, is the federally-designated national communication system for runaway and homeless youth. The mission of the NRS is to keep America's runaway, homeless and at risk youth safe and off the streets.
National Runaway safeline offers phone communication and information for the runaway children and adolescents and their parents. Each of their frontline team members has over 40 hours of crisis intervention training. These members have a resource database with 10,000 resources that can identify support within the community. There is also a forum online that is live and the teenager or parent can ask questions, post concerns and receive answers.
