Occupational Therapy
With children it is important for them to be successful in the many “jobs” of childhood, including play, self-care, school performance and social interactions. Occupational therapy at Pediatric Rehab provides evaluation, intervention, consultation and treatment in the following areas:
· Fine Motor/Handwriting Skills
· Sensory Processing Disorder
· Motor Planning
· Self-Help Skills
· Play/Socialization
· Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD/ADHD)
· Autism / Autism Spectrum Disorder
-Sensory gyms with swings, crash pads, and other equipment to enhance the therapy sessions.

· Interactive Metronome
· Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
Physical Therapy
Our highly skilled physical therapists specialize in evaluation, consultation, and treatment to improve:
· The child’s balance, muscle coordination and posture control.
· Restore or improve motor function
· Increase strength and flexibility
· Improve posture, balance, and mobility
· Manage abnormal muscle tone
· Improve coordination and endurance
· Facilitate gross motor development
· Mobility—Transfers, floor mobility, and ambulation
· Adaptive equipment assessments and training (walkers, standers, etc)
Speech Therapy
Developing communication skills is one of the most important keys to participation in our social world. To achieve each child’s goal of becoming successful communicators, a program specific to his/her needs is tailored to any or all the following areas:
· Expressive/Receptive Language Skills
· Articulation Skills
· Apraxia
· Social Skills
· Oral Motor Skills
· Disorders of voice
· Stuttering/Fluency
· Autism Spectrum Disorders
· Developmental Speech Delay
· Feeding/Swallowing Disorders
With children who display no functional or socially accepted speech, the therapist will incorporate the PEC, Picture Exchange Communication, System as part of the program. And a child that is mainly echolalic will also be introduced to PECs.
