Foster care and adoption
Buckner provides the training and resources needed to become a family to a child for a season through foster care or a forever family through domestic or intercountry adoption. Children in these programs are most often referred through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services due to experiencing abuse, neglect or abandonment. Buckner Family Pathways
We provide single-parent families the opportunity to live in a safe, secure environment while completing their educational or vocational goals and learning the skills they need to be self-sufficient. Families are provided support through access to affordable housing, financial assistance, counseling, spiritual growth and case management services.
Buckner Family Hope Center at Wynnewood
Buckner Family Hope Centers are child-centered, family-focused places where families go to find hope, support and empowerment in their community to reach their fullest God-given potential. The key to the Family Hope Center’s success is found in combining effective programs and passionate people to help families that are experiencing poverty, family issues and lack of services.
Our programs seek to engage through family assistance and community events; equip families through education, financial empowerment, child and youth development and spiritual development; elevate families through family coaching, counseling and spiritual enrichment.
Buckner Family Hope Center at the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy at Mercy Street Complex presented by Toyota
Buckner International operates a Family Hope Center at the Texas Rangers MLB Youth Academy at Mercy Street Complex, presented by Toyota in West Dallas. The Family Hope Center provides services to children and families using the Youth Academy baseball facilities to strengthen families in the community. Buckner works with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and other partners to assess the community to determine which services are most needed to minister to underserved families in one of the most challenged areas in the Metroplex.
Buckner Center for Humanitarian Aid
The Center for Humanitarian Aid has a domestic aid and client assistance program that serves children and families in poverty. Basic needs such as food, clothing and other emergency items are provided. Empowerment classes in English as a Second Language, life skills and job readiness are provided to adult clients. The Center for Humanitarian Aid also is the receiving and shipping center for all international needs including diapers, clothing, medicine and Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls®.
NextStep
NextStep is a supervised independent living program for young women transitioning out of foster care or who have been referred by other partner organizations. Participants receive the support they need to meet their educational, career and independent living goals through training, coaching and opportunities for spiritual development.
