Provide a world-class Club Experience that ensures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.
As the premier youth development organization in Tarrant County, our overarching goal is attained by focusing on academic success, healthy lifestyle initiatives and positive citizenship. The Club provides quality programs for more than 23,000 youth through strategically located branches and outreach initiatives. No child or teen is ever turned away from a Boys & Girls Club; rather they are welcomed.
The safety of the kids we serve is our organization’s number one priority. Child safety is an official accountability on every one of our position descriptions, and all staff undergo rigorous and consistent training to learn and reinforce our evidence-based best practices and procedures.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is
committed to providing high quality programs and services to Club members in a
way that makes them feel a sense of belonging and connectedness and emotionally
and physically safe.
In an effort to ensure maximum safety and security for Club members in our
facilities, we have partnered with generous donors and award-winning architects
to renovate Club entrances. The innovative reconfiguration of the Clubs include
a vestibule area, housing a front desk staff to provide a warm welcome,
advanced technology with biometric check-in and check-out systems and most
importantly, an additional barrier to the entrance of programming spaces.
This broad-reaching initiative enables youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations, and embrace technology to achieve success in a career. Specifically, Club members engage in strategic programs like Project Learn, which boasts high yield learning activities, Power Hour providing intentional homework help and tutoring, and STEM activities??.
Every day at the Club, we provide nutritious snacks, fun, engaging in fitness activities, and competitive sports, to get Club members excited about leading a healthy lifestyle. In addition, initiatives like Triple Play, Money Matters, Smart Girls and ?Passport to Manhood teach youth how to nurture their own wellbeing, helping them succeed in school and grow into happy and healthy adults.
We empower youth to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others cultural identities. A pillar of the Character & Leadership initiative is the Keystone Program giving Club members the opportunity to take a leadership role in their Club and give back to their community.
