Services:
His Food Pantry: This is one of the largest outreach ministries meeting the community’s needs. It serves families with groceries and homeless with food kits 5 days a week.
His Clothing: A newly renovated clothing building houses three main areas, waiting room, sorting room, and a give-away area with six showers stalls three for men, and three for woman. Also, it includes a clothing transition storage area, a 24/7 public drop off, and an overflow warehouse.
Outreach:
· Day and Night Strikes: This weekly outreach was originally how the ministry began providing food, drinks, blankets, socks, coats, and sleeping bags to meet the needs of the homeless. The street is a place where we can go and get to the heart of people and build relationships with them day or night.
· Life on the Streets: A supervised outreach that takes groups young and old into the streets of our city. We walk out the life of the homeless and teach those who experience this daily as a way of life.
· Annual Revival: It is normally held the second weekend in October from Sunday through Wednesday night with prayer, praise and worship, and guest pastors speaking. Love & Care provides each night a hot meal, clothing, haircuts, spiritual foot care.
· Mission Thanksgiving: From 7:00 am to 7:00 pm the Friday before Thanksgiving the city of Abilene and the surrounding communities have the opportunity to come together and help Love & Care with non-perishable canned goods, all types of clothing, and monetary donations that help open and sustain multiple facilities at our campus. This great event benefits thousands of homeless and poor throughout our city each year.
