Healing may begin with the first contact with the MDT,
whose focus is on minimizing potential trauma to the child, but without
effective therapeutic intervention, some traumatized children will suffer
ongoing or long-term adverse social, emotional and developmental outcomes that
may impact them throughout their lifetimes.
An assessment is taken of each child to determine how much traumatic stress is
being experienced. From this assessment, it will be determined if the
child would benefit from counseling or therapy. The therapy we offer here
is known as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
