At Mindful Counseling we are passionate about what we do! We love being a support and witness to internal change; providing a safe, compassionate environment for others who are learning to thrive in their lives! Mindful Counseling was created out of a need we saw in the community. We believe in the importance of mental health and know that with the way life goes sometimes, we lose ourselves in the day-to-day. Our hope for this practice is for you to leave our doors feeling more self-aware, more empowered, and more confident in yourself!
Are you going through a transition in your life faced with fear and uncertainty? Are you not sure what the future holds and feel stuck in your present circumstances? The counselors at Mindful Counseling strive to provide hope for those not sure where to turn or how to move forward. We offer a safe, supportive, confidential environment to dig in and create the life you want, and the relationships you desire. We work with people of all gender expressions, spiritual backgrounds, and health statuses. Clients working with us will gain empowerment and confidence. Clients will learn how to manage uncertainty and find peace within themselves and their environment. We believe your life will be impacted not only personally but professionally, spiritually, and physically.
Teens, Adolescents, and The Parent-Child Conflict
Adolescence can be one of the most challenging experiences faced by both teens and their parents. During this time, adolescents are learning to navigate through the enormous physical and emotional changes that are taking place while striving to grow into self-reliable, independent adults.
As parents, we learn to nurture and protect our children as they grow from infants into children by placing rules and boundaries on them. We do this as a way of keeping them safe and close to our sides. As the adolescent years approach, our children begin to push away and develop a sense of independence through peer relationships and participating in risky behaviors. During this time, parents can begin to feel a sense of panic and fear, as their former way of parenting is now not working as it once was. It is an emotional and trying time for all.
Many of our clients have already been diagnosed with a disorder such as bipolar, borderline personality, obsessive compulsive or opposition defiant disorder and are seeking ongoing counseling to manage these conditions. Our staff can help.
