Individual counseling with a therapist that focuses on evaluating, gaining insight, and coping more effectively with personal issues such as relationships, mental and emotional health, self esteem, and personal growth or recovery.
Group therapy, like individual therapy, is intended to help people who would like to improve their ability to cope with difficulties and problems in their lives.
While in individual therapy the client meets with only one person (the therapist), in group therapy the meeting is with a whole group and one or two therapists. Group therapy focuses on interpersonal interactions, so relationship problems are addressed in groups. The intent of group therapy is to help with resolving emotional difficulties and to encourage the personal development of the participants in the group.
Focused on understanding, communicating, and dealing with the issues relating to the family as a system. How family members interact, confront, and impact each other is explored in relationship to the present problem.
