DRC staff work with MHMR Tarrant County to assess people experiencing homelessness who also live with mental health issues and locate and secure appropriate housing options.
DRC Navigators assist people in their search for appropriate housing, as well as ensure they have everything they need to begin their housing search. The DRC is the housing navigation partner for Fort Worth through the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition. The DRC also provides follow-up case management for people who have been housed, offering support and resources for housing success.
Directions Home is a City of Fort Worth program through which DRC staff assist individuals and families who have been chronically homeless in locating, applying for, and securing appropriate housing. Directions Home participants may also attend Tenant Supportive Services through MHMR to learn about how to be a good tenant, gain life skills, find community resources, and connect with others who have escaped chronic homelessness.
DRC staff work with various programs across the area, including but not limited to the City of Fort Worth, Fort Worth Housing Solutions, and many more to assist people experiencing homelessness who have the highest barriers to housing as well as chronic conditions which may limit their abilities to successfully maintain housing without long term support. Permanent Supportive Housing case managers assist individuals and families in locating and securing appropriate housing and provide follow-up support to ensure continued success.
