Today, First3Years has become a trusted expert and advisor on all things related to infants and toddlers, from positive parenting tips to quality child care to foster care through:
Increase awareness of the critical importance of the first three years of life;
Support conditions that enhance the quality of infant and toddler/caregiver relationships;
Advocate for policies and practices that support the healthy development of young children; and
Educate the birth-to-three workforce in best practices.
This program sponsors “Baby Day” which is the only statewide celebration of the first three years of life, when early experiences shape lifelong potential. Baby Day is inspired by neuroscience showing 85% of early brain development happens by age 3. We have created a day to celebrate this extraordinary period of growth and development in infants and toddlers. Each year they partner with like-minded agencies across the state to host a day of bonding and delight between caregivers and children. Baby Day activities range from infant yoga to music classes to dancing, art, story time, and more.
Baby Day – for the first time ever – will be hosted SOLELY virtual in 2021. Baby Day will be a week-long bonding and delight experience offering live-streamed and on-demand activities and resources for caregivers and very young children. Each registrant will be provided with the materials they need to participant in these activities through our Educational Packages. Packages will be tailored to each age group and will include developmentally appropriate items like board books, art supplies, musical instruments, sensory objects, fine and gross motor tools, and more. Baby Day will take place Sunday, February 7th through Saturday, February 13th and is free for all those who register. Registration will open soon.
