Child Find Referrals
- To make a Child Find referral, or if you suspect your child has a disability, please contact the Kennedale ISD Special Education office at (817) 563-8081.
KISD provides evaluation for students suspected of having a disability between the ages of 3 and 21.
The term "child with a disability" means a child who:
1. has one of the following disability conditions.
2. needs special education services listed below to benefit from education:
Speech/Language Impairment
Autism
Learning Disability
Intellectual Disability
Emotional Disturbance
Orthopedic Impairment
Visual Impairment
Deaf/Hard of Hearing
Traumatic Brain Injury
Other Health Impairment
Non-Categorical
Multiple Disabilities
Deaf-Blind
A referral to Child Find may be made by any person concerned about a child’s development including:
Parents
Preschool Teachers/Directors
Daycare Providers
Physicians
Outside agencies, therapists, Early Childhood Intervention (ECI)
Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) provides services to children with disabilities from birth to the age of 3. Students receiving services through ECI will be transitioned into public schools before their third birthday.
