• Cook Children's patients with a MyChart account now can video chat with one of our medical experts for non-urgent medical conditions without visiting the doctor's office. This service is for patients who have minor medical conditions, and not for emergencies. Services all counties in Texas including: Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, Wise, Hood, Parker, Somervell, Collins, Johnson, etc.

  • You can schedule your child's virtual care visit from a mobile phone, tablet or computer. We recommend using your mobile device and downloading the Cook Children's MyChart app.

    Conditions treated

    This service is for patients who have minor medical conditions, and not for emergencies. It's always recommended that you try scheduling an appointment with your primary care doctor first, but if that's not an option, we're happy to offer our patient families this alternative service.

    For emergencies, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency care location.

    If you live in Tarrant County and you're concerned that your child may need to be tested for COVID-19, please call Tarrant County's Coronavirus Hotline at 817-248-6299. Outside of Tarrant County, please contact the health department in your county. They will be able to let you know what steps, if any, you need to take.

    $50 per visit, per child.

    Cook Children's does not bill commercial insurance for virtual video visits. Upon request, we can provide a detailed statement so you may file with your insurance provider.

    You may be able to use your health savings account or flexible spending account to cover the charge.

    If you have Medicaid, CHIP or STAR Kids, your visit is covered 100% after copay.
