• This program assists low and moderate-income families with learning about obtaining a mortgage, down payment grants, and foreclosure prevention for those who have one in Tarrant County. They also offer information on housing retention assistance and grant and down payment options for home ownership. They provide housing coaching, down payment assistance and workshops on financial literacy. This s a free program for Tarrant area residents. They also have a listing of HC Rentals that are more affordable properties, but a family must meet certain guidelines.

  • Their housing advisors will work with you to: • Discuss foreclosure alternatives • Identify potential solutions to keep your home • Serve as your liaison to communicate directly with your mortgage servicer, especially with job lost due to covid.
    

    For Renters: 

    Determine if you qualify for financial rental assistance due to job loss or job loss due to COVID-19;

    Facilitate the application process to obtain available financial resources.

    For Homeowners

    Identify potential solutions to keep your home;

    Down Payment Grants for Homebuyers-they have information on down payment assistance plans

    The Housing Channel also offers free classes covering a range of topics related to successful homeownership. Classes are held at their Arlington and Ft Worth offices.

    The City of Fort Worth Homebuyer Assistance Program (HAP can provide up to 20,000 in assistance for first-time homebuyers who qualify based on HUD income limits per household size.

    Development Corporation of Tarrant County's Homebuyer Assistance Program (DCTC) provides up to 10,000 in property-specific downpayment assistance for buyers whose household incomes do not exceed 80% of the area median income.
