Pythian Home Child and Family Program - Approved

• Children who are at risk of being homeless and who's parents may not be available, such as grandparents may be raising them, can place children in this home without losing their parental rights. The Grogan Family Program is for single mothers and their children who may need a home while working to get back on their feet. This program assists with employment skills, budgeting, and setting goals to become independent. Currently there is no wait list for the Grogan Family Program. They do not have to currently reside in any certain area.

• Detailed Information

  • -The Grogan Family Program will take 2-3 weeks to be approved.

    -Documentation needed; refer to attached application. The mother can have up to 3 younger children. They must work part-time and go to school or full-time. 

    -They assist with locating employment and completing a resume. The first month is free and after that it is $50.00 a month.

    For their Children Program:

    Children who are considered for admission include the following: 

    -Children who are at least 3 years old and no more than 14 years old.     

    -Children who are able to function in a public school setting     

    -Children who are able to get along with others in a group setting     

    -Children who are capable of respecting other people and property     

    Children who come from families that are struggling with:     

    -Homelessness         

    -Unemployment         

    -Drug/alcohol issues         

    -Incarceration         

    -Grandparents caring for grandchildren         

    -Not being able to provide day to day care for your children         

    Children who are NOT considered for admission include the following: 

    -Children who have been in inpatient psychiatric units     

    -Children who consistently run away     

    -Children who have a serious mental health diagnosis     

    -Children who threaten or attempt suicide     

    -Children with a history of fire settings or cruelty to animals     

    -Children who are acting out sexually     

    -Children who are in CPS custody
